PATH-FOR-HER---FACEBOOK--final

Path for Her is a nonprofit organization that provides girls in Ethiopia with the supplies and tutors they need to stay in school and finish their education.

At Path for Her, we are dedicated to empowering young women through education. We nurture, support, and develop young women so they can receive the education they deserve.

WE ARE A GUIDESTAR CERTIFIED ORGANIZATION

A Country in Transition

Ethiopia has made progress in the past decade when it comes to educating its youth. However, the number of girls who attend and finish secondary school is still extremely low. With only 30% of girls ever enrolling in secondary school and a 17% literacy rate in adult women, there is much room for improvement.

The school systems are in place to help girls get the same access to education as boys. The problem is many families do not have the financial support they need to send all their children to school with the supplies that will help them succeed. To give girls the same chance at accomplishment, the families need extra money for pencils, paper, textbooks, and uniforms.

Path for Her is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides economically disadvantaged girls ages 5 and up with school supplies, uniforms, and tutors. We work closely with established support programs that connect girls with mentors, workshops, and educational support. We make sure these girls are fully equipped to complete school, prepare for college, and whatever else their limitless futures might hold.

Building a Foundation for the Future

By helping girls reach their academic potential, Path for Her is supporting a shift that could affect communities for future generations.

Studies have shown that educating young women has a direct effect on their families, as well as a lasting effect on their communities.

Women who have pursued and completed their education are paid more than those who don’t. Every extra year a woman is educated, her earnings increase by 25%. And because women are more likely to remain in their communities, that economic boost will be felt close to home.

More importantly, when a woman is educated, she is more likely to value education for her family. With increased earnings, an educated mother can pay to educate all her children. In the end, one woman having a secondary education can halt generational poverty and lift entire families from the crippling circle of poverty.

And it starts by making sure one girl gets the supplies and community support she needs to go to school and complete her education.

OUR NON-PROFIT CAMPAIGN

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE.

Our non-profit campaign supports girls between the ages 5 and 15 by helping to ease the financial burden of school on their families. By supplying uniforms, textbooks, book bags, notebooks, pencils, and other school supplies, we can keep these girls in school. Not having the money for supplies can mean the difference between going to school or staying home and working for the family.
